Terms of Service
FreeLedger is free software provided by the FreeLedger Team. There is one edition, it costs nothing, and these terms are the whole of the agreement between us.

Your licence
You may download, install and use FreeLedger free of charge, for personal or commercial bookkeeping, on as many computers as you like, for as long as you like. No account, no registration, no activation and no expiry.
You may not sell FreeLedger as your own product, redistribute a modified installer as though it were the official one, remove or alter its authorship and licence notices, or use its name or branding in a way that suggests we endorse something we do not.
The price is zero, and stays zero
There is no paid tier, no trial that runs out, no feature behind an upgrade and no advertising in the application. A version you have already installed cannot start charging you: it does not know how to take a payment, and it never asks for one.
Your data is yours
Your books belong to you. They are stored on your own machine in an ordinary SQLite file that you can back up, copy or delete without asking anyone. We claim no rights over anything you enter, and we have no way to reach it.
Backups are your responsibility. A disk failure, an accidental deletion or a lost laptop takes the file with it, and there is no copy on our side to restore from.
Not tax or legal advice
FreeLedger helps you organise your records and produces reports and worksheets from what you enter, including a Schedule C worksheet and estimated-tax figures. It is not an accountant, and it is not a substitute for professional tax or legal advice.
You are responsible for what you file. Check the numbers, and take a professional's advice before relying on them for a tax return.
No warranty
The software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. It is tested carefully, and it can still contain defects.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the FreeLedger Team is not liable for any claim, damages or other liability — including lost data, lost profits or interruption of business — arising from the software or its use. Where the law does not permit such an exclusion, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the software, which is nothing.
Nothing here removes rights that consumer law in your country gives you and does not allow to be waived.
Third-party components
FreeLedger ships open-source components — among them Avalonia, Entity Framework Core, SQLite, CsvHelper, QuestPDF, MailKit, SkiaSharp and the Lato and Inter typefaces — each under its own licence. The full texts are installed in the licences folder beside the application.
Availability and support
The website, the download and the update service are provided as a courtesy and may be unavailable at times. Because the application is offline, an outage does not stop you working — only downloading and update checks are affected.
Support is by email at support@freeledgerapp.com. It is offered in good faith and without a guaranteed response time.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated; the date at the top will change with them. A change cannot apply retroactively to a version you already run, and the licence above — free, unlimited use of what you have installed — is not something we will take back.
Free, offline, and yours to keep.
No account, no subscription, no card. Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit.
